How can I contact my child's teacher?
A: Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns anytime! We are glad to schedule conferences to discuss your child's progress. The phone number to JWS is 514-6466 or we can be reached via email at [email protected] or [email protected]
What is the homework policy?
A: Students will likely have homework Monday-Thursday. Often times on Thursday, the homework assignment is to study for math, science or vocabulary tests. Students should take their toolkits and composition books home nightly for studying purposes. Although there is typically no homework over the weekend, it is an expectation that students will read for 30 minutes.
When are blue folders sent home?
A: Blue folders are sent home every Tuesday night. We ask for parents to review the completed papers and sign and return any necessary forms.
How much should my child be reading?
A: It is a Craven County Schools expectation that each student will read each night. We encourage students to read for at least 20 minutes a night and each child is required to record a reading summary of this into the planner.
Can I eat lunch with my child?
A: Sure, anytime! Our lunch time is from 12:15-12:45. Just make sure to sign in at the office!
Can I come visit my child in class?
A: Parents are welcome to visit our classroom anytime! Please check in advance to make sure we aren't testing or out of the classroom
